What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy healing method where the practitioner channels universal life force energy through light hand placements on or above the fully clothed body.
This non-invasive practice helps release tension, restore balance and support the body’s natural ability to heal. It soothes the nervous system, allowing the mind and body to relax, easing stress and promoting clarity and calm.
Reiki is wellness for the soul.
How a session feels
The most common sensations clients notice are tingling, warmth, vibrations, colors, or a sense of lightness. Some feel nothing at all, which is completely normal and even varies from session to session. Many find it deeply soothing and grounding, leaving them centred, relaxed and with renewed energy and better sleep.
How a Distance Reiki session works
Distance Reiki works like in-person Reiki, but the practitioner doesn’t need to be physically present. Energy transcends space and time, flowing through a photo or proxy object to support balance and healing just as effectively.

How it works
1. Arrive & settle
Prepare your space to relax - with a blanket, candle, incense, or calming music, whatever feels right. We’ll start with a brief 5-minute video chat to check in, set your intentions, and align on what you’d like from the session.
2. Energy work
After our call, we’ll disconnect technologically and connect energetically. I channel Reiki to you, guiding energy where it’s needed most. You may feel warmth, tingling, vibrations or deep relaxation. All you need to do is receive.
3. De-brief
After the session, I’ll pull an oracle card for insights, share feedback on what I noticed, and provide aftercare tips to support your integration.

Yes. Reiki is completely safe, gentle, and non-invasive. It works in harmony with your body’s natural energy system and can be safely combined with any medical or therapeutic treatment. Reiki is suitable for everyone, including children, the elderly, and even pets. It has no side effects, except for what’s sometimes referred to as a healing crisis (see next section).

A healing crisis can occur when your body begins releasing built-up energetic or emotional blockages after a Reiki session. You might feel tired, emotional, or experience mild physical symptoms such as headaches, flu-like sensations, or an upset stomach as your system recalibrates.
This is a natural and temporary part of the healing process - and actually a very good sign because your energy is shifting and clearing. These sensations usually ease within a day or two. Support yourself by resting, drinking plenty of water, and being gentle with yourself as your body integrates the new balance.

For Distance Reiki, it is best to prepare a quiet, comfortable space where you can fully relax without interruptions. You might like a blanket, water, or soft music, but this is optional. To get the most from your session, avoid alcohol or any substances that cloud your mind for at least 24 hours beforehand.

Reiki is most effective when practiced regularly. The more consistently you book sessions, the deeper the benefits - helping you release blockages, restore balance, and maintain clarity, calm, and energy in your everyday life. Even occasional sessions are beneficial, but frequent practice supports long-term wellbeing.

Yes, Reiki is completely safe during pregnancy and can be a beautiful source of support for both mother and baby. It helps calm the nervous system, ease physical discomfort, and nurture emotional balance throughout this transformative time. Many expectant mothers find Reiki deeply soothing, allowing them to connect more peacefully with their changing bodies and their growing baby.

Absolutely. Distance Reiki works because energy is not limited by physical space, it can flow to you wherever you are. The practitioner connects with your energy field through focused intention and Reiki symbols, guiding the universal life force energy to areas that need balance and healing. It may be hard to grasp intellectually, but it truly works in magical ways.

After a Reiki session, it’s important to give yourself some gentle care. If possible, take at least half an hour to rest and ground yourself. Drink plenty of water or a soothing tea and have a light snack if you need. Allow yourself to simply observe the subtle shifts over the next couple of days in your energy and emotions, noticing how your body and mind feel as they realign. Be gentle with yourself, and give space for the healing to integrate naturally.

By booking a Distance Reiki session with me, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
Re-scheduling: If you need to re-schedule your appointment, please contact me at least 24 hours before your appointment via hello@yoursoulspace.com.au. An SMS reminder will be sent 26 hours before your appointment (make sure to enter your mobile number upon booking). If less than 24 hours is given, the cancellation policy applies.
Cancellations: Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours prior to the appointment date. You can do this by cancelling directly in your Calendly appointment confirmation email. If this occurs, a full refund will be provided, less a transaction fee (1.70% + 30 cents or 3.5% for international cards + 30 cents of the invoice amount. This is a forwarded charge and not from Soul Space). An SMS reminder will be sent 26 hours before your appointment (make sure to enter your mobile number upon booking). Cancellations of less than 24 hours will require a consultation fee of 30% + transaction fee (see above). The full costs will be payable for 'no-shows'.
Remote Reiki Sessions: Sessions are held completely via distance, no phone/video call for the duration of the session, except at the beginning during the first 5 minutes. This is purposely intended, allowing you to find space to relax completely, soak up the energy in the comfort of your own home, and avoid any distraction. After your session, I will reach you via text to check in with you and to give my feedback.
No replacement: I am not a licensed medical practitioner, and Distance Reiki is not intended to replace medical, psychological, or counseling services from a licensed physician, psychiatrist, or counselor. I do not prescribe substances and will not interfere with the treatment of a client by a licensed medical professional.
No Guarantees: While I strive to provide the best and most effective service, I cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results. The results of a Reiki session are not constant and vary from person to person and from session to session.
Confidentiality: Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance. All information shared with me or insights that may come up will be kept confidential and will not be shared with any third parties, except in exceptional cases where reporting to authorities is required. This may include instances involving imminent harm to yourself or others, suspicion of criminal activity, or as legally mandated by relevant authorities.
Age Requirement: Distance Reiki sessions are only available to individuals aged 18 years and older. By booking a session, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
Effects of Reiki: The results of a Reiki session vary from person to person. Most people feel more relaxed, calmer, and at ease afterward, and some may experience a reduction in pain. However, every person's experience is unique, and some may experience discomfort for a short period of time. It’s similar to a muscle ache after working out. This is simply a result of energy shifting and moving within the body.
Possible uncomfortable responses may include:

Cold or flu-like symptoms
Headache
Nausea
Hot flushes
Tiredness
If you experience any of these responses, it is simply an indication that your body is adjusting in a positive way. If you still feel uncomfortable for more than three days after the session, or if you are concerned, please do not hesitate to contact me.
